RE-UP: Pink Floyd "Best Of Tour 72 - Restored" - 1CD - Live in London February 20

This historical recording captures Dark side of the
moon in its earliest stage.
No other recording available from the jan/feb 72
tour (in which dsotm was first performed)
sounds as good as this.
It has one ugly flaw (still) with the
annoying cuts in Tr. 4, 8 & 11 but the music &
sound is just too good to leave.
This upgrade is by far the best sounding version
of this recording of the few I have ever heard.
Includes artwork, made with great care.
You need this, average fan or diehard.

Liner notes:
------------

In the spirit of our previous "BBC Archives" series (after "BBC Archives 1967-1969" and "BBC Archives 1970-1971"), Harvested is proud to finally present "BBC Archives 1974"! In 1974, the BBC taped the second set (The Dark Side On The Moon) and the encore (Echoes) of the Floyd performance at Wembley Empire Pool, on November 16. However, Echoes was never broadcast, and for many years only the DSOTM set was circulating from broadcast sources.

In recent years, recordings taken from the BBC pre-FM tapes began to circulate, some of them including the long lost soundboard version of Echoes. However, none of these RoIOs are fully sonically satisfactory in our opinion. Most of them are processed and used some kind of noise reduction, sometimes very slightly (the Sirene releases), and other times more heavily (the Winston remasters, "Time In London") The rare, unprocessed versions currently circulating, like the "FM Pre-Master" Russian bootleg, are pleasant but not without a certain amount of hiss, which reveals that the lineage was not without some generational loss. The hiss from the unprocessed versions available until now is probably one of the reasons why so much NR was used on the various remaster projects.

After much research, Harvested found a superior source, totally unprocessed, with much less hiss than the other unprocessed versions circulating until now. A spectral analysis of the audio file showed that this source was very pure and could be the result of direct transfer from the BBC masters.

However, it is well known that the BBC mastering of that concert sounds rather dry and flat, especially the DSOTM set and our source was no exception. Therefore, we felt this new source needed the "Harvested treatment," in order to make this recording really shine, with good dynamics. The remastering was done very carefully in an attempt to leave the music intact, avoiding NR, dehissing, or any other processing that would generate artifacts. The majority of the remastering work consisted of adjusting the audio levels, balancing the recording when needed, and bringing more clarity and depth by applying specific EQ settings here and there. The final result sounds great to our ears and this version boasts excellent dynamics and a well defined high end without the flaws present on most of the other sources. This CD is free from all NR artifacts, the amount of hiss is minimal, and the low frequency noise that can be clearly heard on all of the currently circulating versions of Echoes (especially during the quiet parts) is not present here.

Nice stereo separation at beginning of Rattle That Lock and Money
Rattle That Lock Live In Brightonabrigo is a 4th source that came available when this project was in progress. It was from the East balcony so it would have been a nice symmetry to the lord snooty source but it was very hot with extensive clipping and crackle so it was not used.

RE-UP: Pink Floyd live at Werchter Festival 1994 - 2CD - September 2

PINK FLOYD

WERCHTER 1994

Source:  September 2nd, 1994 - Festivalweide , Werchter, Belgium .

Album notes:  Performance in the European part of the world tour "Tour '94" in 1994, promoting the album "The Division Bell."

Standard set for 1994 years in a typical system works (before the "Sorrow," the team "A Great Day For Freedom ", while in the second part did not play at all," Us And Them " ).

Not the best quality, this is one of the technically inferior bootlegs from 1994. The material comes from a source, conventionally designated as the first Recorder Despite recording made ??from a distance, d increased and vocals are quite clear, without major disruption.

In most preserved the continuity of the concert. Write divided into 2 segments, but contrary to the actual course of the show. Not very thorough indexing.

Show identification:

First set starts with „Shine On You Crazy Diamond”. „Take It Back” and „A Great Day For Freedom” were performed before „Sorrow”. In second set „Us And Them” was not performed at all. Guy Pratt yelled [„...back to Belgium...”] during „Run Like Hell”.

Note: Looks like our intrepid taper had a tough time at this
one. He was busted near the end of the show, so an inferior
AUD provides the last 3:47 of Comfortably Numb. And it appears
the first set tape was confiscated. There is also a small ten
second patch in ABITW2 at 3:53, and some talking and mic bumps
during start of SOYCD. Still, this is pretty decent...Enjoy!

RE-UP: Pink Floyd live in Tampa 1994 - 1CD - soundboard - rehearsal - May 6

Catalog: OCTO 055, Octopus/Why Not?
Misc.: Soundboard; gold disc
Produced: Italy, 1994
Date: 940506
Cover: All clear-plastic jewel case. Tray liner: Outer has color photo of flash pots at stage front with tracklist, source and label info.
overlain; inner has color photo of stage showing 'Young Syd' on Mr. Screen. Booklet: Front has full view color shot of stage with artist
and CD names overlain; rear has color photo of stage showing 'Old Syd' on screen with band credits at right; inside pages comprise montages
of color stage shots with stills from the High Hopes video and the 'talking heads' tour logo; centerspread has a nice narrative talking the
reader thru the contents.

Sources: 06 May 1994, Tampa, Florida ("2:00 p.m.")

Comments:  Soundboard, maybe a slight background noise like if it was made from a tape copied from the original, if you see what I mean. -ANON

The soundboard nature of the source sounds doubtful in places, but the recording quality appears to improve somewhat starting with 'Lost For Words,'
which restored my faith. The source is not without its flaws (unstable separation, dropouts, etc.), but these are relatively minor; overall this is
a great recording of an unusually lengthy rehearsal/soundcheck, with Dave taking occasional considerable liberties with lyrics. Hunt it out! - THE HEDONIST

It is the soundcheck from Tampa. It is a 'board recording and they rehearsed Lost for Words but didn't do it at the concert. They did similar things
at other sites. They even played Stones songs at some rehearsals. -ANON

This is a very good recording although I doubt it was recorded directly from the soundboard. The original recording has some small dropouts etc and
sound is worsened slightly by the generations the source tape for the CD went through. However it is still excellent with no crowd noise. Dave invents
some new lyrics ("Up and sideways.....", "Shine on you crazy bastard").

Note: The CD is a bad edit of the original source tape. Time ends abruptly in Breathe (Reprise), Money also cuts out early. Neither of these flaws are
in the circulating tape. Us and Them and Money are reversed from their true order. A lot of dialogue and improvisation/messing around are cut from the
CD. Worst of all, it is missing _Comfortably Numb_, the last song performed at the soundcheck. There is a brief drop out in the first verse of Wish You
Were Here (that is present when the source tape got to 45 minutes and ran out). A total of maybe 15 minutes is missing from the CD.

The CD is made from gold but that did not stop flaws from developing in my copy - seethrough holes opened up in the gold layer. - HAMISH

I have the ROIO Just Warmin' Up CD taken from the soundcheck at Tampa Stadium. First of all the date is wrong. The Tampa concert was on May 6th, not May 5th.
It is a decent recording of the soundcheck, but it pales in comparison to the actual concert recording. I have the analog master of the Tampa concert, and
the rehearsal CD, and it is one of the better recordings of the 94 tour. -ANONYMOUS

6. Hey You  (4:55)
7. Run Like Hell  (8:31)

As with other recordings that I have posted, this was in a trade around 1999.
It was on 2 CD-R's. I don't remember who gave it to me, but there was no
bootleg title on it. It was only labeled "4-17-1994". I downloaded "Jurrasic
Sparks" and the "1st Gen" of that recorder, but this is a different source.
Gilmour's comments to the crowd are the same, so it is indeed the same concert.

Noticeable DIFFERENCES are:

1. This source is crisper and sounds closer than the JSparks source.

2. This source has someone near the recorder saying "They're hot" right before
Gilmour says "Thank You very much. Good evening to you." JSparks does not.

3. This source has people near the recorder guessing which song is next by
saying "On the turning away", "Yeah", "Right", and "Classic" right before
"A Great Day For Freedom" begins. JSparks does not. Instead, JSparks has
several people saying "Sit Down!" and a lady who starts singing the first line
of "On The Turning Away" right before "A Great Day For Freedom" starts.

4. On this source, during the "Money" intro sound effects, a man near the
recorder yells "Hey Dan!"  On JSparks, the yell is missing.

5. On this source, after "Hey You", someone near the recorder says what sounds
like "Very favorite." On JSparks, that comment is missing.

6. On JSparks, during the intro of "Run Like Hell", someone near the recorder
yells "Get Out!" and a minute later, a man starts coughing. On this source,
none of that is heard. Instead, this source has a man yelling what sounds
like "Gilmour!" and "Ever more!" during that intro section.

This "Recorder 2" has a little tape hiss during some songs in the second half
of the show, but it's really only noticeable during quiet intros to songs like
WYWH or US and Them. Maybe the person who has the master tapes will see this
and share!

NEW: Syd Barrett "Wondering & Dreaming volume 3" - 1DVD

Wondering & Dreaming
 Vol.3 (1967-69)

01. Look Of The Week (14-05-1967) - Source 2

This is latest rebroadcast by BBC.
They again repeated famous 'Sound Of The 60's" show
probably in 2007.
Quality is very good.

Source for interview - Harvested DVD.
I have 2 sources for the complete interview -
Harvested and unknown VHS. I can't choose
by quality, because they are both very good,
so i included both.

02. Top Of The Pops (6-07-1967) – Reconstruction

BBC Lime Grove Studio, Shepherd's Bush, London, England.

Pink Floyd perfomed "See Emily Play" live for the first of three times
on the music programme "Top Of The Pops".

It was broadcast on BBC1 TV at 7.30pm

(c) Glenn Povey

After fantastic news, that lost footage is found,
i choose to make slide show with original audio
from this broadcast.

All pictures are taken only from first perfomance on this show,
including screenshots from found video (Mojo article).
Audio is rumoured make by fan in 1967

03. Pathe Newsreel (8-07-1967)

On 8 july Pink Floyd were reported in Melody Maker to be making
a promotional film of "Scarecrow" for British Pathe News.
Filmed in and around Marbury Country Park in Nortwich
prior to their show that evening, the clip was then
syndicated throughout the ABC cinema circuit in the summer 1967
and featured the band wandering through wheat fields and
having a pretend shoot-out, whilst trying not to collapse
into fits of laughter.

(c) Glenn Povey

Thanks again to guys from Harvested, who provided
best to me this best quality source from VHS.

Other non-floyd footage taken directly from Pathe website.

It was great news somewhere in 2000's, that guys from Pathe
found in their archives uncut tape of all outtakes from this newsreel,
including also floyd footage.
This tape also presented here in full time (and source of floyd part
is the same)

16:9 version are taken from "Technicolour Dream" DVD, because
to this day it was best ever quality (sadly, that not in 4:3!)

Outtake excerpts from "Which One Is The Pink" doco

04. Beat Club Mentions (1967-69)

Sadly, Pink Floyd cancelled their perfomance in Beat Club
in august of 1967.

Here's presented interesting hit parade, nice document from
summer of love era.

But then some oddities.

1967-08-01? Reaction In G tape used for the German TV b'cast
(Date is some what questionable as the entire band was on holiday
during the first 2 weeks of Aug '67 save for 2 recording sessions at EMI.)
Reaction In G excerpt was rebroadcast on Beat Club Episode #42
 News 1969-04-26
(w/o voiceover) and then 1993-07-02 & 1995-06-05 (w/voiceover) -
"There was no show on 1967-08-01,
 Episode #22 is from 7/22 & #23 from 8/26.
Uschi Nerke voiceover version was broadcast on Beat Club Episode #45
News 1969-08-02."

and final mystery: during beat club intro i found bit, and this guy in darkness
really looks like pink floyd...

05. American Bandstand (7-11-1967)

On 7-11-1967 Pink Floyd mimed to "Apples & Oranges" for the
music programme "American Bandstand" hosted by Dick Clark,
in which the band were also interviewed.
It was broadcast (in colour) on the KABC network
Channel 7 on 18 November at 11.30am

(c) Glenn Povey

Okay, the quality isn't great and it still not only has that annoying timcode
that we've all seen before,
but an additional slate towards the top of the screen.
There is also a small black box in which I needed to remove an ID
in order to share this.
But I still think its quite watchable and don't think
I've ever seen it complete like this,
from Dick's intro (holding up the Piper LP)
through the end of the band interviews.

PS. Sorry, but actual gen info is unknown.
I captured this from a VHS tape, probably 2nd gen.

(c) Ron Toon.

Nothing to say really after this!

Non timecode footage is from "Eight Miles High" Doco &
Syd Barrett Story from VH1

06. Central Office Of Information (early dec.67)

On 9 December members of Pink Floyd and their managers
were reported in Melody Maker to be viewing a colour film
clip of newly recorded "Jugband Blues" at The Central
office of Information for inclusion in a cultural exchange
magazine programme. Widely available on the collector's
market, this film was networked throughout North
America and widely reported to be band's next single.
The Recording date and location remains unknown.

(c) Glenn Povey

1. First version is probably from NTSC master first gen VHS.
This is video as this found - no editing, no audio redub.
And mix from this original audio is absolutely unique and unknown.
Film was discovered in garden shed in 1999.

2. 2nd version kindly provided to me by Ron Toon, audio
now is alright.

3. BBC version are here just for fun :)

4. And final version first broadcasted in 2007 by BBC
in "Seven Ages Of Rock' series (part 2).
MUCH BETTER quality and picture looks different,
promo is incomplete

07. Tomorrow's World (12-12-1967)

On 12.12.1967 group were filmed at former landlord
Mike Leonard's house for and edition of the "Tomorrow's
World" programme that featured his sound and light experiments.
To accompany his work the band were seen playing an untitled
instrumental piece composed by Waters & Mason.
(The Soundtrack also included the Floyd jamming
a Booker T & The MG's style improvisation).
The programme was broadcast on BBC1 TV on 17.01.1968
at 6.40 PM and repeated for the very first time as part of
BBC Omnibus special in 1994

(c) Glenn Povey

Mike Leonard have this footage in his private
collection for many years and thankfully (BBC
has wiped this) it was appeared in collector's
circles.

Quality is absolutely stunning, only footage have
timecode.

Non timecode version was broadcast on Jools Holland
show and Pink Floyd Omninus doco in 1994.

08. Christmas On Earth Continued (22-12-1967)

Pink Floyd appeared on last psychedelic major event "Christmas On Earth
Continued" on 22 December. It was last Syd Barrett perfomance with
the Floyd as 4 piece band.
Summer is Love is all over forever.

This promo appeared in promotional movie by Tom Weber "Watch Out
For Your Ears" with perfomances by Jimi Hendrix Expirience, New Animals &
Traffic (traffic footage included only in work print).

Floyd footage here listing only 3 seconds, unfortunately.
Other groups in this clip: Traffic, Soft Machine, Tomorrow,
Hendrix, Unknown black guys.

09. Home Movies (Filmed between 1966 & 1969)

Location and exact dates of this footage is still unknown.
This footage appeared first in Knebworth 1990 promo film
about Pink Floyd.
Previous source have very bad quality, i found new source from
VHS and it was looks much better.

This footage contains 1966, 1967 (?) and 1969 home movies
edited in one clip.

Rumours spreading that this is more and in best quality..
but where ?

Comments:
German release. This unauthorised bootleg release contains
rarities, B-Sides, demos, and never released material. Volume
10 of a 10 volume set spanning 1966-1994.

Tracks 1-5 are background tracks for "La Carrera Panamericana with
Music By Pink Floyd", a 65 minute movie released in 1992, with David
Gilmour and Nick Mason driving cross-country in race cars. Fixed some
of the songtitles that were wrong (i.e. Mexico 70 should be Mexico '78;
Carrera Slow Blues should be Pan Am Shuffle). Some of the coolest
instrumental Pink Floyd material Ive ever heard.

Tracks 6-7 incorrectly listed as Knebworth 6-6-1990 instead of
6-30-1990.

Tracks 7-11 listed as Knebworth 1994 when they didnt play there in 1994.
These tracks sound like one of the Earl's Court 1994 shows, possibly
10-29-1994 based on the way "High Hopes" was cut.[spectre]
